Your 2-day experience starts with the Advanced Skills and Procedure Workshop
This 1-day course is a perfect follow-up to the Clinical Skills and Procedure Workshop. Get updated standards of care for common hospital-based clinical conditions.
Get prepared for your SHIFT – including practice with hands-on procedures
This program include the online Skills and Procedure Workshop (and CME). Refresh your hands-on skills with advanced procedures to prepare yourself for your SHIFT.
As a group, you must work through 8-14 patients in your 8 hour shift.
You will be assigned a role to play in each case, and must make decisions to save your patient.
HANDS-ON Procedures are included throughout the day
We have woven team-led and group-mastered procedures throughout the shift to complete the cases they are needed for.
Group interaction helps to guide you through difficult decisions.
Topics encompass all of the medical, procedural, clinical, and non-clinical tasks expected of high-performing clinicians.
Led by our team of experts, each patient must be managed from start to finish. Patients are located everywhere in the hospital, and are mingled together in a unique way to teach teamwork, and understanding of individual clinical roles.

Day 2

The Shift is a free-form, instructor-led program with unique clinical cases presented in a “Choose Your Own Adventure” type of format.
No Lectures. No talks. Interaction Required.
You will see several patients during your shift, and work through real-world conditions and interactions to deliver the best care possible. You will be given a role for each case, and your patient (and the group) will help you move through the correct decision making. Your instructors will teach you about the critical decisions, and provide guidance throughout the day. Each patient will be unique, and jump off of the screen to immerse you in a realistic day of work in a modern day hospital setting.

This program includes a combination of LIVE and INTERACTIVE didactic sessions and HANDS-ON Procedure training on high quality simulators. Group participation is encouraged and – WE MAKE IT FUN! Procedures tie together concepts and techniques taught in the didactic sessions.
Airway training with common, standard laryngoscope and video laryngoscope equipment.
We make It easy for you! Small group and individual skills practice and coaching is included.
Workshop includes a suture simulator and all equipment.
All attendees receive a high quality suture simulator (with all instruments and suture materials), tote bag, pen, and full color textbook.
A printed course companion and optional Pocket Guide
A full-sized HIGH QUALITY text contains all of the program slides in full color format and normal reference images along with room for taking notes. About our CME Credits
We are accredited to provide CME credits for nurse practitioners (NP’s), physicians (MD/DO/MBBS/etc), and physician associates (PA’s). CME is interchangeable for up to 33 Nurse Practitioner continuing education (CE) hours, and also includes 20.5 emergency procedure hours and 4.5 pharmacology hours. Anyone completing our programs may claim CME credits!
The AAFP has reviewed the Physician Skills and Procedures Series, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 05/01/2026 to 04/30/2027. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity will satisfy the requirements for Category I credits from the American Academy of Physician Associates. AAFP credits are interchangeable with the AAPA and the NCCPA on a one-to-one basis and are equivalent to AAPA Category 1 credits for Physician Associates. Nurse Practitioners may also apply AAFP credits toward Continuing Education hours with all Nurse Practitioner Boards. Nurse Practitioners will also receive designated Pharmacology and Emergency Procedure credits for this program.
